iPhone 16 Models Could Come With New Capture Button For Camera: Here’s What It Does
Apple iPhone 16 series could have new features and a new button along with the action button which is customisable.

Apple is adding new hardware buttons on the iPhones in the next few years, and we’ve already got a teaser of that with the action button on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Well, it isn’t exactly a physical button but still Apple is clearly angling towards more additions with the iPhone 16 series in 2024.

Earlier reports have mentioned the debut of the capture button with the iPhone 16 series which basically could be linked to cameras and maybe act like a shutter button.

Internally, Apple is calling this button the “Capture Button” and while we can speculate, the company still isn’t sure how to use the new feature. Having said that, we can tell you the button will be located under the power button on the right side of the device, and it will be a capacitive button rather than a standard button.

MacRumors sources have indicated that the new button is set to be introduced on all ‌iPhone 16‌ models, including the base ‌iPhone 16 ‌and ‌iPhone 16 ‌Plus models. The rumoured ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro Action Button is expected to have a flush design, with Apple planning to shift to solid-state technology for this button which will be a big change from the current standard button design.

iPhone 16 will also get some premium features, and we’re hoping that the ProMotion 120Hz display finally comes to the regular iPhone 16 models as well. The company will continue to rely on Qualcomm for the 5G modem on iPhone for the next few years, and reports suggest Apple might have completely shelved its plans to develop an in-house 5G modem for the iPhones, which will be good news for companies like Qualcomm going forward.

In the latest Apple news, the company has been ordered to stop selling the latest Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 models in the United States because of its reported patent violations.
