2017 Skoda Octavia Facelift Launched in India for Rs 15.49 lakh
The car gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting with 10 colours to set and a large electrically operated panoramic sunroof.

The Czech automobile manufacturer, Skoda has launched it's much awaited facelifted 2017 Octavia in India for a starting price of Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Octavia has been a bestselling car for Skoda and accounts for almost 40% sales of the company.

The new 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift will be offered in three variant options – Ambition, Style, and Style Plus. As for the powertrain, the Skoda Octavia will come with a choice of three engine options – a 1.4-litre petrol, 1.8-litre petrol, and a 2.0litre diesel engine. These will come with a choice of manual and automatic (DSG) transmission setups. While the choice of the manual transmission will offer a 6-speed unit, if you go for the automatic transmission offering then you get a 7-speed DSG with the petrol engine option and a 6-speed DSG with the diesel engine option.

So let’s get to the changes right away. The biggest one is the new front-end design. It gets Skoda’s signature Butterfly grille with a blacked out treatment, which, now gets four-set headlights around it which are all LEDs, and so are the daytime running lights. The hood is also more sculpted than before and the car is now wider and longer as well. All of this gives the Octavia an aggressive yet elegant look. Along with all these the car also gets new c-shaped LED taillights and 16-inch Alcatraz alloys.

Inside, the car gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting with 10 colours to set and a large electrically operated panoramic sunroof. The driver-side seat is 12-way electrically adjustable with memory function and the steering wheel is reach and height adjustable as well.

As far as the safety is concerned, the car gets 8 airbags inside the cabin, ABS, EBD, Hill hold assist and electronic stability control.

In this segment, the new Skoda Octavia will compete the likes of Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis.
