The German car manufacturer BMW has pushed its product line in India, and has launched its three most awaited cars – the updated Mini Cooper S, Countryman EV and the tech-loaded Long-wheel base 5 Series. The latest offerings have been priced at Rs 44.90 lakh, 54.90 lakh and Rs 72.90 lakh respectively (all ex-showroom).
Interested customers now can pre-book the vehicles from authorised dealerships nationwide. The delivery will kickstart from September, this year.
MINI Cooper S and Countryman EV
Talking about the fifth generation Mini Cooper S and the electrified third generation MINI Countryman first. Both models have been given some major noticeable upgrades from both the inside and the outside.
Design Highlights
The Cooper S gets an updated front facia, oval-shaped LED headlight setup, and split DRLS, which makes look more aesthetic than ever. Turning the dice towards the Countryman, it has been transformed into a pure-electric avatar, featuring the updated headlight unit, paired with integrated DRLs. The EV also has been grown in height by +6 cm, and in length by +13 cm.
Engine and Power
The all-new Mini Cooper S gets a robust 2-litre four-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 201bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm. The unit is paired with the 7-speed Double Clutch Steptronic Transmission, offering smooth gear shifting and driving experience.
The company claims that the vehicle is capable of doing 0 to 100kmph in 6.6 seconds.
When it comes to the Countryman EV, it uses a lithium-ion 66.45 kWh battery setup, which forces the model to churn out an impressive output of 201 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The car offers an impressive range of 462 km on a single charge, and achieves a battery level from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 29 minutes, using a 130 kW DC Charge.
All About 5 Series LWB
Last but certainly not least, the all-new BMW 5 Series LWB. Most of the details about the newly added member in the LWB family already has been reported by us. However, there are some elements that surely deserve some appreciation.
The model gets the best in class dimensions, featuring a length of 5,165 mm, width of 2,156 mm, height of 1,518 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. It gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, allowing the vehicle to produce an output of 254 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1,500 – 2,500 rpm.
Apart from this, the unit gets a 48V electric motor with a maximum power output of 10 bhp and 25 Nm of torque. The car offers 0 -100 kmph acceleration in just 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.
