Nissan Hits 1.1 Million Export Milestone, Drives 'Make in India' Success
With this milestone, Nissan Motor India continues to shine on the global stage, proving the strength of their "Make in India" approach.

Nissan Motor India has achieved a major milestone by exporting over 1.1 million units since starting its export operations.

This accomplishment showcases Nissan’s commitment to its ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ philosophy.

The milestone was marked on June 29, 2024, at Ennore Kamarajar Port, Tamil Nadu, with the Nissan Magnite being the significant unit exported. In June 2024 alone, Nissan recorded a wholesale of 10,284 units, marking a Year-on-Year growth of 76.3 percent and Month-on-Month growth of 65.7 percent.

Export sales contributed 8,177 units in June 2024, with a remarkable Year-on-Year increase of 149 percent and a Month-on-Month rise of 104 percent. Domestic sales were at 2,107 units during the same period.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Despite the challenges of a nationwide heatwave in June, we remain resilient and adaptable to market volatility with agility. Nissan is gearing up for the upcoming launch of a new global SUV in India and we continue to stay agile and responsive to our customers’ evolving preferences both in India and in our export markets. The team continues to focus on innovation along with agility, ability & adaptability.”

The Nissan Magnite, launched in December 2020, continues to be a hit both in India and abroad, with over 140,000 units sold. This model blends Japanese design with efficient Indian production, perfectly embodying Nissan’s ‘Make-In-India, Make for the World’ philosophy.

Nissan’s growth strategy includes expanding their network across India, with new touchpoints in Srinagar, Salem, Delhi, and Durgapur, bringing their total to 272.

The Nissan Magnite is exported to 15 global markets, including recent launches in Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Brunei. In recent years, Nissan has also focused on the Middle East, exporting to countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
