Sushant Singh Rajput’s fans were left disappointed recently after casting director Mukesh Chhabra teased the sequel of the late actor’s last movie, Dil Bechara. On Wednesday, Chhabra took to his X handle (formerly known as Twitter) and simply wrote, “Dil Bechara 2”. While he did not share any further information, the post has left everyone wondering if the sequel of SSR’s movie is in the works.
Reacting to the post, several social media users urged the makers not to make Dil Bechara 2. They argued that the film is an emotion for many and therefore would be incomplete without Sushant. “Dil Bechara Is An Emotion!!! I Still Can Never Watch It In One Go!!! It’s A Request… Please Don’t Ruin It For Sushant n Us,” one of the fans wrote. “No one will watch it without Sushant in it! That movie of yours only succeeded coz of Sushant period!” another wrote. Several others simply wrote, “No SSR, No Dil Bechara.”

Dil Bechara was released in July 2020, a month after Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment. It was Mukesh Chhabra’s first film as a director. The film was based on the English novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and was a remake of the Hollywood film of the same name. Besides SSR, it also starred Sanjana Sanghi in the lead.
Last year, Sanjana recalled her first meeting with SSR for Dil Bechara when she told Bollywood Bubble, “I remember either it was for a reading or look test or for one of those things. It was just so effortless and easy.” Talking about the late actor, the actress added, “The Fault In Our Stars is a tear-jerker. And just getting to debut with someone as prolific as him (Sushant), so incredibly intelligent, so talented, was a huge gift.”
