New Delhi: State-run Coal India Ltd on Monday said it plans to hire 1,500 executives by December 2012 and will come out with recruitment advertisements in early 2012.
"We will recruit around 1,500 management trainees by December, 2012, and will come out with advertisements for vacancies by either February or March next year," Coal India, Director (Personnel and Industrial Relation) R Mohan Das said.
The world's top coal producer has around 4,000 vacancies, he said.
CIL will hire for around 16 divisions, including human resources, finance, marketing and sales. The selection process will begin from February, 2012, and will be completed by December next year, Das said.
The company, which has around 3.80 lakh employees, started the recruitment drive a couple of years back after a freeze on hiring for over a decade.
Earlier, the Maharatna company had said it plans to hire 1,400 executives by October this year.
CIL has plans to set up 20 new coal washeries with a combined capacity of 111.10 million tonnes at an estimated expenditure of Rs 2,500 crore.
It is also waiting for environmental and forest clearances from both the Centre and the states for about 150 projects, which have been stranded since 2009.
