Mumbai: After a lull initially, the market picked up momentum in late trade. The Sensex was up 114.26 points at 20815.01, and the Nifty ended up 30.65 points at 6186.10.
About 1352 shares have advanced, 1284 shares declined, and 140 shares are unchanged. Tata Power continued its uptrend throughout the day with gain ogf 5 percent.
BHEL, Axis Bank, L&T and Dr Reddy's Labs were other gainers. NTPC was reeling under pressure after the electricity regulator's regulation order. Bharti, Tata Steel, TCS and Sesa Sterlite dragged in the indices.
