India B beat India A by 76 runs on Sunday (September 8) in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rishabh Pant played a big part in the Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side’s win by taking five catches behind the wickets in the second innings, and in addition to that, he also made life difficult for his India and Delhi Capitals teammate Kuldeep Yadav with his constant verbal banter.
In several videos going viral on the internet, Pant can be heard making comments to distract Kuldeep, and he even got success in his plan when star spinner was caught by Musheer Khan off Washington Sundar’s bowling on the second ball of the 48th over.

Kuldeep, who could only manage to take one wicket in the two innings, came out to bat at No. 8 for the Shubman Gill-led side on the fourth and final day of the match and faced a total of 56 balls to score 14 runs with the help of one four.
34-ball fifty by Pant
Pant, who was playing his first red-ball match since a life-threatening road accident on December 30, 2022, top-scored for India B in the second inning. He hammered 61 runs from 47 balls on Saturday and during his stay at the crease smashed nine fours and two sixes.
After his super batting show, Pant showed that he was ready to make a Test comeback for India by taking five catches behind the wickets on Sunday, and his catch of Avesh Khan in the final session of the 4th day’s play caught everyone’s attention.
The 26-year-old dived to his left and completed a flying catch to dismiss Avesh. The video of Pant’s super effort to end Avesh’s stay at the crease was shared by the official X handle of BCCI Domestic, and within no time it went viral on the internet.
After winning the first round match of Duleep Trophy 2024, India B will now face India C in the next match, which is set to take place at ACA ADCA Ground in Anantapur from Thursday (September 12). India C also managed to win its first match of the Duleep Trophy 2024 by getting the better of India D by four wickets on Saturday.
