BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to microblogging site X, stating that Duleep Trophy is a platform for the cricketers to ‘seize opportunity’.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Wednesday wished good luck to all the players participating in the Duleep Trophy 2025. The Indian domestic season will kick off on Thursday with the red-ball tournament, featuring 4 teams comprising the top performers from Team India.

As a packed red-ball season waits for Rohit Sharma & Co, the upcoming Duleep Trophy will be a huge opportunity for the players who are eyeing to represent the country in Test cricket. Ahead of the season, Shah took to microblogging site X, stating that the tournament – to be played across two Indian cities – is a platform for the cricketers to ‘seize opportunity’.

“The 2024-25 Domestic season is set to kick off tomorrow with the prestigious Duleep Trophy! It’s an exciting start as four teams, featuring some of the finest longer format cricketers in the country will go head to head,” Shah wrote in his post.

“With a packed red ball calendar ahead for Team India, this tournament is an essential platform for preparation and seizing opportunities. There’s something special about red ball cricket ~ the purest form of the game and it’s great to see the season starting on this strong note.

“Best of luck to all the players selected. Looking forward to witnessing some outstanding performances in the days to come,” he added.
