'Sachin Meets Tendulkar': Batting Legend's Heartwarming Interaction With Fan Goes Viral

A die-hard fan of Sachin Tendulkar lived his dream when he was stopped by his idol in the middle of a busy road.

The legendary cricketer shared glimpses of the joyous meeting on X (formerly Twitter).

Tendulkar, who drew curtains on his decorated career more than a decade ago, still remains a fan favourite.

The Master Blaster was travelling in the backseat of a four-wheeler along with a friend when he spotted the fan on an adjacent scooter.

The man had donned a Mumbai Indians jersey featuring Tendulkar’s name on the back.

As soon as the batting maestro spotted his name, he asked his driver to stop the car by the fan.

Tendulkar initially initially asked the fan to help him find the way to the airport.

The fan immediately recognised the India legend and greeted him with folded hands. “Today, I got to meet my own god,” the man was heard saying in the video.

Tendulkar took time to speak with the fan, who showed him a diary featuring some special moments of the 50-year-old’s legendary career. The man then asked for an autograph and Tendulkar fulfilled his wish with a hearty smile.

He even praised the fan for wearing the helmet while riding a scooter.

“Sachin meets TENDULKAR. It fills my heart with joy when I see so much love showered on me. It is the love from the people that keeps coming from unexpected corners which makes life so special,” Tendulkar wrote.

After the post was shared, fans hailed Tendulkar for his down-to-earth personality.

Referring to his “beautiful gesture,” one fan commented, “The fan must be over the moon with happiness, dancing with joy at such a lucky encounter.”

“Such a lovely video. You can see the genuine joy, respect & appreciation he has for you,” wrote another fan.

A fan branded Tendulkar as a “national treasure”, saying, “I still cannot believe how you delivered every match under such immense pressure.”

Tendulkar bid adieu to cricket as one of the greatest batters the sport has ever witnessed. He has aggregated 34,357 runs in 664 international appearances. The Indiagreat also holds the monumental record of registering 100 centuries across formats.
