'Seeking Ram Lalla's Blessings': Cricketers Celebrate Pran Pratishtha of Ayodhya Ram Mandir
Former and active cricketers including the likes of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Mithali Raj, Venkatesh Prasad and Ravindra Jadeja were seen at the event.

The Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya was celebrated in all pomp and show as Indians from all walks of life gathered at the holy venue for the ceremony.

A Pran Pratishtha is a rite by which a temple consecrates a murti. Hymns and mantras are recited to welcome the deity as the temple resident. The event also marks the first time the murti’s eye is opened for the first time.

Former and active cricketers including the likes of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble were seen at the event.

Tendulkar shared a post that read, “Happy to be at the new Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Its astounding architecture is set to impress anyone who pays a visit. Glad to have received Shri Ram’s blessings.”

Kumble, the celebrated Indian leg spinner said that, “It is a wonderful occasion, a very divine occasion. Blessed to be a part of this. It’s very historic. Looking forward to seeking blessings from Ram Lalla.”

Former Indian women’s team skipper Mithali Raj and former team Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad were also at the event.

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was also at the Pran Pratishta.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant posted, “Feeling very happy and proud to see today’s Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha. Jai Shri Ram” with a picture of the diety.

Former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag shared an update on his social medial handle that read, “Still feeling overwhelmed with love and devotion looking into the eyes of Prabhu Shri Ram. Pure bliss. Sitaram Sitaram Sitaram Kahiye, Jaahi vidhi Raakhe Raam , taahi Vidhi rahiye”

Team India batsman KL Rahul shared an update that read,”Jai SHree Ram” with a image of the temple.

Indian javelin throw ace Neeraj Chopra shared a post that read, “May the blessings of Ram Lalla ji be upon all the people. Best wishes to all of you on this historic day. Jai Shri Ram”

South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj took to social media to express his delight with the holy event.

Former Pakistani spinner Danish Kaneria shared a post that read, “The wait for centuries was over, the promise was fulfilled, the consecration of life was fulfilled.”

The date of January 22 was chosen for the ceremony as it coincides with the Karma Dwadashi, a date dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
