Suresh Raina Turns Back The Clock, Hits Shakib Al Hasan For Two Sixes In A Over – WATCH
In a video going viral on the internet, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina can be seen dancing down the track and hitting Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for a couple of sixes.

Star Indian batter Suresh Raina, who announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, shortly after MS Dhoni called time on his career, is playing in the Six60 Strikes tournament these days. In a tournament that is held by the National Cricket League (NCL) in the United States, Raina was in action for the New York Lions on Saturday (October 5), and during the match played against the Los Angeles Waves, he hammered their captain and legendary Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for two sixes and one four in a single over.

In several videos going viral on the internet, 37-year-old Raina can be seen going down the crease and hitting Shakib for big sixes.

Here’s a look:

Raina collected a total of 18 runs from Shakib’s over, as apart from two sixes, he also smashed him for a boundary.

Shakib, who was last seen in action for Bangladesh in the two-match Test series against India earlier this week, will miss the three-match T20I series that is set to start on Sunday (October 6) in Gwalior. The third leading wicket-taker in T20Is announced his retirement from T20Is last month and probably has also played his last Test match.

He wants to play in his red-ball match during the Bangladesh home series against South Africa later this month, but due to current political situations in Bangladesh, it is highly unlikely that he will be picked in the team.

The 37-year-old cricketer is one of the greatest cricketers of all time and arguably the best ever produced by Bangladesh.

India vs Ban T20I series

The first T20I of the three-match series between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to take place in Gwalior on Sunday. Suryakumar Yadav will lead India in the shortest format series, and no player from the Test squad is picked for the T20Is, keeping the three-match Test series against New Zealand in mind. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will play under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shanto, and the visitors will hope to get the better of the new-look Indian team in the shortest format series.

Bangladesh has only managed to win one out of 14 T20Is played against India so far, and in the last T20I match played between the two teams, India hammered them by 50 runs on June 22, 2024.
