NIRF 2024 Rankings To Be Released Tomorrow; Check Evaluation Criteria
The NIRF Rankings are a notable annual event that evaluates and ranks higher education institutions in India across a variety of criteria

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 is scheduled to be released by the Ministry of Education tomorrow, August 12, 2024. The announcement will be made at 3 p.m. during a press conference held by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The NIRF Rankings are a notable annual event that evaluates and ranks higher education institutions in India across a variety of criteria.

The NIRF broadened its assessment beyond conventional domains last year by adding a new category for agriculture and related sectors. Colleges, universities, overall rankings, management, pharmacy, engineering, medical, law, architecture, and dentistry colleges were among the categories available until 2022. This inclusion emphasises the expanding role of agriculture education and related areas in India’s academic environment.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework ranks institutions using a thorough assessment procedure. The evaluation criteria include teaching and learning, research and professional practice, graduation results, outreach and inclusion, and perception. Each criterion has a varied weighting to indicate its significance. Teaching, learning, and resources, as well as research and professional practice, each get a 30 per cent weightage. Graduation results account for 20 per cent, with outreach, inclusion, and perception accounting for 10 per cent each.

By offering an unbiased evaluation, these rankings seek to encourage competitive excellence among Indian universities. Institutions and students alike look forward to the rankings since they have an impact on institutional initiatives and academic decisions.

Academic institutions throughout the country will be closely observing the release of the NIRF Rankings 2024 to see how they performed in this year’s rankings. The rankings not only recognise high-performing institutions, but also provide insights into areas for development, so contributing to the general betterment of India’s educational environment.
