The results of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) examination 2024 have been announced. Bitan Ahmed, a student from Diamond Harbour has secured the ninth position in high school. He obtained 488 out of 500. According to reports, Bitan Ahmed has been a meritorious student since childhood. He studied at Diamond Harbour’s Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sarisha, and ranked ninth in the higher secondary merit list.

He got a chance in engineering in the joint entrance exam, but he wants to study medicine after clearing the NEET exam.

His father, Altaf Ahmed, is a teacher by profession. He is also the state joint secretary of the human rights organization APDR. His mother, Alina Akhan, is a local high school assistant teacher. They are residents of the Kazipara area of block number one of Diamond Harbour. Bitan has two siblings, but he is the youngest.

In a recent media interaction, Bitan’s family members shared that the entire family used to rent a house in Sarisha for Bitan’s studies. He studied at the Ramakrishna Mission in Sarisha in class 5. He has been talented in his studies from a young age. Bitan used to spend all his time on his studies. As a result of this, he has achieved this success. Everyone in the family and neighbourhood is happy about this success.

The West Bengal HS exam 2024 started on February 16 and ended on February 29. This year, 7,55,324 applicants appeared for the higher secondary exam.

The exams were held at a total of 2,341 examination centres across the states. A total of 90 per cent of the students who appeared for the exam passed. The pass rate in 2023 was 89.25 per cent, with 87 candidates securing ranks in the top 10. Around 8,53,000 students appeared for the exam last year.

The HS results were published after 69 days. Students who appeared for the WB HS examination can check their results on the official websites, wbchse.wb.gov.in and wbresults.nic.in. Students can obtain hard copies from their schools on May 10.
