Patralekhaa has had a very busy 2024 with two major releases and other projects that are yet to be released. The actor made a strong impression with her performance in Wild Wild Punjab and is now gearing up for the release of Anubhav Sinha’s IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack. Patralekhaa, who plays the role of an air hostess, Indrani, has much to share about her experience shooting for the limited series. However, there are a few things that Patralekhaa says will stay with her for a long time.
Talking to News18 in an exclusive interview, Patralekhaa said, “[What will remain with me] is just how claustrophobic I felt inside the aircraft. There were about 100 of us plus the crew. And it was very claustrophobic. The air conditioning also had to be switched off because of the sound. I did feel a certain way after my shoot was over. It took me over a week to really come out of it. I fell ill, [Anubhav] sir had a fever. Nonetheless, after some point, your mind is just there. That process was tough. Hopefully, I will never be in a hijack situation, but this felt eerily real.”
Action sequences are never easy for any actor. Whether playing a negative character or a positive role, both can be challenging, with the risk of getting hit or hurt. Elaborating on one such incident that occurred while filming this series, Patralekhaa said, “I also got one tight slap. Sir had already told me that Taapsee got hit 15 times in Thappad, so I was like, come on, let’s go for it. I was like, just slap.” But she also acknowledged that it is not easy when you are the co-actor who has to slap someone. “It’s not about the person who is getting slapped; it’s about the person who is giving the slap,” she shared.
Patralekhaa will be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack alongside Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra, and Naseeruddin Shah, to name a few. The six-episode saga is slated to release on August 29, 2024, on Netflix.
