While she had no reservations about playing a cameo, she lets us in how she often tries to convince Sriram to give her a bigger part in his films. “I shot for Merry Christmas for two nights and it was a lot of fun. I feel sad sometimes and tell him that he shouldn’t do this to me all the time (laughs). But I’m there for him when he needs me because we’re really good friends. In fact, I would do it for Vikram (Vikramaditya Motwane) and (Anurag) Kashyap too because they’re really close and old friends,” says the Made In Heaven S2 actor.
Radhika, in fact, states that she has no qualms about playing smaller parts in films and the fact that she’s also dabbling in scriptwriting these days has a role to play in it. “I’m also trying to make things now and so, I know how many reservations actors have in terms of what they want to do and what they don’t. It’s not their fault either, it’s just how the industry works. I don’t know if my decisions are stupid and whether they would eventually would pay. But a lot of times in my life, I’ve said a yes to things because I like those people, their company and their work,” she elaborates.
Further sharing her thoughts on how that nudged her to do Merry Christmas, the 38-year-old continues, “I never really thought about how big or small the project is. Pooja (Ladha Surti), who is Sriram’s co-writer, associate director and editor, is also a very dear friend of mine. The three of us have such a good time on set. In any scene, we try so many different things and play around and that’s what I love.”
Radhika also heaps praises on south star Vijay and says, “I’ve only seen Vikram Vedha (2017) and Merry Christmas. This reminds me that I need to watch the rest of his work too (laughs). But I think he’s fantastic. He’s so good. What a personality onscreen! He’s a lovely man.”
