Godin has been a permanent piece of Atletico's defense since joining from Villarreal in 2009. The 27-year-old helped Atletico win last season's Copa del Rey to go with a pair of European Super Cups and the Europa League trophy in 2012.
Atletico are also chasing its first Spanish league title since 1996 and sits one point behind leader Barcelona after 11 rounds.
Godin says the team's success this season comes from "unity and hard work" and the club's confidence "in all of the players."
