CL: Man City draw 1-1 with Napoli

Manchester: Aleksandar Kolarov equalized with a superb free kick to salvage a 1-1 draw for Manchester City against Napoli in a match between two Champions League debutants on Wednesday.

Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani put the Italian visitors in front in the 69th minute by finishing off a wonderful counterattack but Kolarov rescued a point for City five minutes later in an entertaining Group A match, whipping the ball in from 25 yards (meters).

City, playing in its first match in Europe's elite competition since 1968, was given a reality check after opening the Premier League with four straight wins.

It was Napoli's first game at that level since 1990, when Argentina great Diego Maradona was part of its squad.
