Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda is 'very close' to joining Indian Super League (ISL) franchiseDelhi Dynamos, IBNLive has learnt.
According to a source, Delhi are in advanced talks with the former Lyon winger Malouda and a Champions League winner with Chelsea in 2012.
"We are in talks with a number of players and Malouda is one of them. Although the deal is far from done, the winger is very much interested in playing in the ISL and prefers Delhi Dynamos," the source said.
Malouda is also seen as an alternative to former Liverpool full-back John Arne Riise, who has been at the centre of a tug-of-war between Delhi and Kerala Blasters.
Earlier, Robert Carlos, 42, who has been named player-manager of the Delhi, confirmed that they are after a number of players and Malouda's name is surely there in the list.
"Former Chelsea player Florent Malouda is also in Delhi Dynamos plans but nothing confirmed. The list is huge but only thing I can confirm is that Malouda is part of it," Carlos said before signing the contract as marquee player-cum-manager last week.
