Liverpool: Dirk Kuyt feels Liverpool will only get better this season, thanks to the influence of key men Luis Suarez and the returning Steven Gerrard.
Club captain Gerrard is returning to first-team action after being injured for the start of the season, while Uruguayan striker Suarez has begun the campaign in fearsome form following the signings of several players over the summer.
"The additions to the squad have made us much stronger," Kuyt told The Daily Mirror.
"It is brilliant for the club that we now have so many top-class internationals to choose from. But the return of Steven Gerrard will be important too.
"He is very important to this club, and can really lift us. I can assure you that when he is back to his best he will be as influential as ever, because you can see his determination in training."
The Dutchman feels that the impact of former Ajax forward Suarez has not been given enough credit, considering the step up in class from the Eredivisie to the Premier League.
"What people seem to forget about Luis is that it really is a very big step to come from Holland and the Eredivise there," the 31-year-old insisted.
"It's a huge step, and it's really difficult to be a success straight away. The style of football is different, and the pace is different too.
"He has done brilliantly from the very beginning, and he has become a very important player for Liverpool.
"But it is my belief he will be even better in the future. He's a great player already, but it still takes time to settle in, coming from Holland.
"He's still young, so he has time on his side to get used to new team-mates, and to get used to the Premier League properly."
Liverpool find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League despite setbacks against Tottenham and Stoke in recent weeks.
