India football coach accused of racial abuse
Houghton, upset with a referee's decision during India's match with Yemen, came out of the technical area arguing.

New Delhi: Indian football team's coach, Bob Houghton, has been accused of racial abuse during India's match against Yemen in Pune on October 13 and may face a ban if found guilty, according to The Telegraph.

Sources in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) claim that the fourth official for the match, Dinesh Nair, was reportedly abused by Houghton during half time of the match which India eventually lost 3-6. The official complained about the incident to the match commissioner Anthony D'Costa, who then forwarded his report to the AIFF.

In his complaint, Nair said Houghton was upset with the two-minute add-on time at the end of the first half and came out of the technical area arguing.

"I tried to make him (Houghton) understand that it is purely referee's decision…and asked him to behave but he started abusing me badly and told me you b****** Indian referees," Nair said in his report.

"I am forwarding the report to the executive committee," said AIFF General Secretary Alberto Colaco, confirming receipt of the report.

Houghton was not available to tell his side of the story as he is currently in Cape Town.

If the allegations of the official are found correct, Houghton may be handed at least a five-match ban.
