Former Brazil and Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos will be joining Delhi Dynamos as their marquee manager in the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL), according to a report in The Times of India.
Carlos has appeared in three World Cups for Brazil, with the team winning the trophy in 2002 and finishing second to France in 1998. The Dynamos were coached by Dutch coach Harm van Veldhoven in the first season of the ISL. Under him, the team finished fifth in the league.
Carlos last played for Brazil in 2006 and announced his retirement from all football in 2012. Over the course of his club career, he played for Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, winning four La Liga title, three Champions Leagues and one UEFA Super Cup. He also won two Copa América titles with Brazil.
The Delhi Dynamos have earlier retained midfielders Hans Mulder and Gustavo dos Santos for the second season of the ISL. The duo were their star players last time around.
