Maradona won't quit, says Bilardo

New Delhi: Carlos Bilardo affirmed that Diego Maradona won't resign from his Argentine national team post, and that instead he has his mind set on the friendly match with Scotland next week.

Carlos Bilardo, the technical secretary of the Argentine national team, rejected claims suggesting that Diego Maradona will resign from his new Argentine coaching job.

"I don't think Maradona will resign," Bilardo affirmed, before admitting that he spoke to Maradona about the situation.

"I reunited with Diego. I told him he has to take things slowly. We have 500 people collaborating. After four or five months I had to change everybody. Diego wants everyone," he stated in relation to Maradona's intentions to count with Oscar Ruggeri, which were completely rejected by AFA president Julio Grondona.

Grondona affirmed that he doesn't "like the face" of Ruggeri, and that he will refuse to allow Maradona to work with the three-time World Cup veteran.

Even so, Maradona will travel to Scotland on Saturday, where on the 19th of November he will debut as the coach of Los Albicelestes against the Scots.
