City's football development executive Patrick Vieira has revealed the club's interest in the Rennes player.
Manchester: Manchester City football development executive Patrick Vieira has revealed the club is interested in Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, but concedes they face competition from a number of other top European clubs.
The 21-year-old was the subject of strong interest from Arsenal during the last day of the transfer window and has admitted he could leave the Ligue 1 side after the European Championships next summer.
M'Vila's team-mate Kader Mangane believes the France international's likely destination is either the Emirates or Real Madrid, but Vieira maintains there is a wider interest in the defensive midfielder.
"I am sure that City are not the only club interested in him," Vieira told Canal Plus on Sunday.
