The Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been in the thick of rumours with big teams like Arsenal, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain hunting for him, but it seems the England international is keen to move to Stamford Bridge if things at United do not get resolved.
Rooney has let it be known to Chelsea through intermediaries that he wants to go to Chelsea to work under Jose Mourinho next season if no solution can be found to his situation at United, as per reports in www.express.co.uk.
Chelsea on the other hand have eyes set on another striker, Edinson Cavani of Napoli and with Manchester City refusing to the pay for Cavan's buy-out clause, Chelsea are getting closer to sign the 26-year-old Uruguayan. Rooney has been very vocal over a transfer possibility and an on Friday, it was learned that Wenger is ready to meet his 20-25 million pound fee and hefty 250,000 pound weekly wage.
The report also mentions that Rooney has told friends he wants to stay in England - and that if he has to leave United after nine years, Stamford Bridge is the place he is most likely to favour.
