Can't Confirm Pakistan's Participation at Jr. Hockey World Cup : Sports Minister
Pakistan's participation in the junior hockey world cup that is scheduled to be held in Lucknow in December is under cloud.

New Delhi: Pakistan's participation in the junior hockey world cup that is scheduled to be held in Lucknow in December is under cloud after sports minister of India Vijay Goel said that the organisers will have to contemplate on various issues before India can engage in any kind of sporting activity with Pakistan.

"We will seek details regarding Pakistan's participation at the Junior Hockey World Cup. But we will also have to consider the fact that till the time there are terrorist activities from their side, how can we have sporting relationship with them," Vijay Goel said while speaking to the media at an event in the capital.

Earlier, Pakistan was barred from taking part in the ongoing 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad.

The general sentiment in the country is also that there should not be any ties with Pakistan till the time they don't act against terrorism.

India Cricketer Gautam Gambhir, on Tuesday, told reporters in New Delhi,"I absolutely endorse that we should have no ties with Pakistan until the time this cross-border terrorism finishes, because I feel that people absolutely need to put themselves in the shoes of those who've lost their kids, someone who's lost their father, son or husband.

Sports Minister Vijay Goel also emphasised that they will have to keep the views of the people of India in mind, before coming up with a decision regarding Pakistan's participation.

"There is no disputing the fact that the people of India don't want to have any kind of relationship with Pakistan at the moment and we will have to keep that in mind", Goel said.
