The Exorcist: Believer director David Gordon Green and producer Jason Blum opened up about their upcoming horror film. In a new conversation, the duo respectively shared three reasons to watch their new film. The Exorcist: Believer is first of the sequel trilogy planned for the horror film franchise. It is also the sixth film in The Exorcist franchise.
When asked about the methodology and considerations taken while creating horror films post pandemic, producer Jason Blum said, “I think one of the weird things about human beings in the world is that whenever there is a bad thing happening in the world, horror movies become more popular when you see something bad it is very much in your control so it has a sense of healing to control the events so that is what we keep in mind when we embark upon coming up with movies post-pandemic.”
Jason was also asked to weigh in on the discussion that horror is the only genre safe to cast new faces instead of iconic stars. “I believe for a studio release, it is very much possible for us to make inexpensive movies and collaborate with up-and-coming talents and that’s one of the reasons I love making horror genres and come right back here,” he said.
The producer and the director also shared three reasons why people should watch The Exorcist: Believer. “Three words I would like to say to the audience are Intense, Visceral and the most exciting experience you will have in a very long time,” he said. David Gordon Green added, “The bigger the screen, the louder the noise and the louder you can scream your head off and you can bring someone with you.”
The Exorcist: Believer is a story unfolding a chain of events that forces single father Victor Fielding to confront the nadir of evil when his daughter, Angela, and her friend Katherine, show signs of demonic possession. Terrified and desperate, he seeks out Chris MacNeil, the only person alive who’s witnessed anything like it before. The film releases on October 6, 2023, and will play at your nearest PVR INOX cinema.
