The sudden death of Friends star Matthew Perry was a shocker for his fans globally. Soon after the news broke out, many of his friends and colleagues in the industry sent in their condolences. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow remembered the actor and shared that she had a brief relationship with Matthew Perry in the summer of 1993 when he was on the verge of making his mark on Hollywood. Gwyneth Paltrow wrote an emotional note for the actor and wished that his soul rest in peace.
Sharing how she met Matthew Perry, Gwyneth Paltrow shared, “I met Matthew Perry in 1993 at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts. We were both there for most of the summer doing plays. He was so funny and so sweet and so much fun to be with. We drove out to swim in creeks, had beers in the local college bar, kissed in a field of long grass. It was a magical summer.” She added that it was a time when he had shot the pilot episode of the popular sitcom Friends which has not aired yet. Gwyneth Mentioned that Matthew was quite nervous and hoping that his “Big Break” in Hollywood would just be around the corner. The actress remarked, “ It was. We stayed friends for a while until we drifted apart, but I was always happy to see him when I did. I am super sad today, as so many of us are. I hope Matthew is at peace at long last. I really do.”

Matthew Perry was discovered dead at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday. According to a report by TMZ, first responders received a call about a cardiac arrest, and the actor was found in a jacuzzi. The report mentioned no narcotics were discovered at the scene, and no foul play was suspected.
Reacting to the sudden death of the actor, Matthew Perry’s family told People, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.”They added, “You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”
Warner Bros. TV, which produced Friends, stated, “We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family. The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans,” as quoted by People.
Matthew Perry has been part of several TV shows and films in the last few decades, but he is remembered as Chandler Bing from the show Friends, which had 10 seasons and aired from 1994 to 2004.
