Swim and dive regularly. To get a diving badge, you must be used to catching sea creatures. Use a wetsuit to swim in the sea, on your island or in your town. Press A to move, and Y to dive underwater. To catch a sea creature, you must catch up with its shadow while underwater.
Look at the Diver Badge. You'll need to catch a certain amount of sea creatures. Just to note that the type of sea creature does not matter. Bronze rank: Catch 500 sea creatures Silver rank: Catch 2,000 sea creatures Gold rank: Catch 5,000 sea creatures
Look at the Seafood Maniac Badge. This depends on your personal sea creature encyclopedia. Every time you catch a new sea creature, it will be added to your encyclopedia. You will say "I wonder what my encyclopedia says about my new catch/find." if a new creature has been added to your encyclopedia. Bronze rank: Complete 50% of the encyclopedia - 15 creatures Silver rank: Complete 80% of the encyclopedia - 24 creatures Gold rank: Complete 100% of the encyclopedia - 30 creatures
Accomplish the minimum amount required. You can count how many sea creatures you have in your encyclopedia, but there is now way to count how many sea creatures you have caught in total, unless you have kept track from the beginning.
Locate Phineas. When a player achieves the minimum for a level, Phineas will appear somewhere in town on clear days.
Talk to him. At times, he'll give you multiple badges, so just keep pressing buttons.
View your badge on your Town Pass Card. Learn that ranks override each other, so if you achieve a bronze, a silver one will override it instead of showing both ranks, unless you tap on the badge.
