Telugu actor Nani apologised to Vijay Deverekonda and Rashmika Mandanna after their vacations photos were displayed at the Hi Nanna event. The event was hosted to promote Nani and Mrunal Thakur’s upcoming film last week. In a new interview, the actor admitted he was unaware that photos will be displayed on the big screen and called the turn of events ‘unfortunate.’ The actor added that he would extend his apology on behalf of him and his team to the duo.
“It’s unfortunate that happened. Even before I realised what was happening, the picture was taken down. We are all close friends. Vijay and Rashmika realise these things are happening. But, if someone was truly hurt by it, the team and I apologise for it,” Nani told M9.
Nani added that neither did he nor the host, anchor Suma knew that Vijay and Rashmika’s photos were being used. He said that whoever did the act must already be scared. “It’s a movie event, not one for a gossip website for us to pull such stunts,” Nani said.
Last week, a video went viral showing the goof up. The video revealed that the photos suddenly popped up on the big screen and everyone was stunned. The host, Anchor Suma, appeared to be unaware of the photos while Mrunal was embarrassed by the display. The turn of events did not go down well with the fans of the rumoured couple. Manu took to X, previously known as Twitter, to call out the organisers.
“What a promotional stunt by Team #HiNanna defaming other actors. Shameless @VyraEnts. And these actors should have some common sense, they just laughing. And Suma is one of the worst Anchors,” a post read. “#HiNannaPreReleaseEvent : Ntg , just used the fame of #VijayDeverakonda #RashmikaMandanna to promote their film @VyraEnts is this the way u portray a film to the audience , is this the real value ? Pls stop inviting Anchor Suma ” added another at the time.
