'Those Who Turn From Their Own History...': Shah Slams Cong, BRS on 'Hyderabad Liberation Day'
Shah also credited the country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the liberation of Hyderabad

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched an all-out attack on his rival political parties and said that these parties are hesitant to celebrate the ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ to sustain their vote-bank and appeasement politics as they are too scared to lose power.

The BJP leader further slammed the parties that don’t celebrate ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ adding that they hesitate to commemorate the region’s freedom from erstwhile Nizam rule and its merger with India.

“I would like to tell them that people of the country would turn away from those who turn away from their country’s history,”  said the Union Minister pointing out that no government in the past 75 years has celebrated the historic ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day.

Owing to ‘appeasement policies’ the previous governments were always afraid and did not celebrate it, Shah said, adding that it was only Prime Minister Narendra Modi who decided to celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day.

Shah also credited the country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the liberation of Hyderabad and said due to his efforts Nizam’s Razakars (armed supporters of Nizam rule), surrendered.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended greetings to the people of Telangana, Hyderabad-Karnataka and Marathwada region on the Hyderabad Liberation Day.

He said that this day marks the unwavering patriotism of the people and commemorates their unyielding struggle.

“This day marks the unwavering patriotism of the people of Hyderabad and commemorates their unyielding struggle to set themselves free from the atrocious rule and domination of the Nizam. I solemnly pay homage to the martyrs of the Hyderabad Mukti Sangram,” Shah wrote on ‘X’.
