13-year-old boy rapes minor girl in Nagjhir, arrested

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 13-year-old neighbour in Nagjhir village in Seoni, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Thursday evening when the girl was playing hide-and-seek in the courtyard with the neighbourhood children, Superintendent of Police BP Chandravanshi said.

The boy allegedly hid the victim in his house during the play and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The accused has been arrested, they said.

The matter came to light on Friday when the girl complained of severe pain and was admitted to district hospital.

Medical tests confirmed rape following which a case was registered against the boy based on a complaint lodged by her parents, police said.
