Fifteen students from Kashmir Valley have cracked the JEE Mains Exam with the help of Indian Army's Super 30 coaching programme. Eleven of the 15 successful students are now eligible for the IIT Advance Exam.

Conducted by the Dagger Division of XV Corps (Chinar Corps), the Army's Super 30 programme provides free coaching to a select group of 30 students of Jammu and Kashmir for the Joint Entrance Exam for engineering courses for 11 months. They are mentored by an experienced faculty in three subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

“They are the cynosure of all within the Valley; in the state of J&K and indeed the whole country. The 15 sparkling pairs of eyes, had dreamt big and are well on course to realising those dreams," the Army said in a statement after the JEE Mains results were announced.

While complimenting the successful candidates, Major General JS Nain, GOC Baramulla Division, urged other youngsters in Kashmir to develop appropriate skills to enhance their employment opportunities through the Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs. He further assured the "Awam that the Chinar Corps is planning to expand the Super 30 programme, this year onwards, to benefit more deserving students from the Valley".

All students were presented track suits and stationary items by the Dagger Division. “Facing stiff competition wherein close to 15 lakh candidates had appeared in this exam at the National level, the success of 15 students from J & K testifies to the professional conduct of the Super 30 programme," the Army statement further said.

While 11 successful candidates now are eligible for the IIT (Advance) exam in May 2016, all 15 can seek admissions in various engineering colleges.

The Super 30 students are selected based on a state wide exam conducted by the Army with its Training Partner Centre for Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL).
