New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a first year medical student in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh who had complained of being ragged was allegedly beaten to death by his seniors.
Aman Kachroo, a 19-year-old student had enrolled at the Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College in Kangra in Himachal Pradesh last August.
He had repeatedly complained to his parents about the brutal ragging that took place on campus - often by completely drunk third-year students. The complaint had been made to the college authorities as well.
A written complaint was filed by the boy and his parents, but apparently no action was taken by the college authorities.
Aman was reportedly beaten up by his seniors after he filed the complaint.
Aman Kachroo later succumbed to his injuries.
The college has now rusticated four students suspected to be involved. Police are investigating the case from all perspectives, including ragging and death.
The distraught family is trying to cope with the monumental loss.
