CHENNAI: Two children in the city were found to be infected with the swine flu virus, taking the total number of H1N1 patients in the state to 32. According to well placed sources in the Health Department, a three-year-old boy from Mylapore and an 11-year-old girl from Royapettah were admitted with flu symptoms. As soon as the test results were found to be postitive, they were administered with the necessary drugs and kept in the swine flu ward. Corporation health officials and workers attached to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare visited both patients and reviewed their progress. An official confirmed the prognosis that their health was well under control and that there was nothing to worry about, “The children are responding well. All the others who have been diagnosed with (A)H1N1 are also recovering well and care has been taken to see that they are safe in isolated wards,” said a senior health official.With the inclusion of the two kids and one other case reported from the South, the number of patients has risen to 32 with Chennai having 17 infected persons, Coimbatore having 10, Tirupur having 2, Tiruvarur, Cuddalore and Tiruporur having 1 victim each.
