Dadri: Two more persons have been arrested in the in connection with the lynching of a man over suspected beef consumption at Bishada village near Dadri on Saturday.
The two individuals, allegedly the main suspects in the Dadri lynching issue, have been identified as Vishal and Shivam. Vishal is the son of a local BJP leader.
Media was also prevented from entering Dadri post the issue. Earlier on Saturday, CNN-IBN team reporting from the ground came under attack as angry locals protested media presence. An iron rod was thrown at the team and other media networks faced similar attacks.
There was also a backlash against VIPs visitng the deceased Iqhlakh's family. Delhi CM Arvind Kerjiwal was initially stopped from entering Dadri on Saturday. Police say they did so to maintain law and order.
On Friday, Six persons were arrested in connection with the lynching case and a manhunt was launched to arrest the rest named accused in the case.
The Union Home Ministry on Thursday sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh government on the incident. The ministry has also asked the state government to ensure that there is no repeat of such incidents in the future.
50 year-old Iqlakh was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured by a 200-strong mob which barged into their house on Monday night following rumours that the family had consumed beef.
