21 convicts have been hanged in Nagpur Central Jail since Independence

Twenty one prisoners have been executed in Nagpur Central Prison since Independence. The first convict was hanged on August 25, 1950 and the last on April 17, 1973. Yakub Memon, death row convict in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, will be hanged in the jail after 42 years.
