In view of law and order, no political outfit is permitted to carry out any kind of religious ritual at the Kashi-Vishwanath temple, police said.
"Over 25 Shivsena activists were detained by police near Church crossing at Godowlia while they were leading towards the Kashi-Vishwanath temple for offering Jalabhishek, Superintendent of Police (City), Rahul Raj said.
All of them were released by the police after few hours, he added.
