KOCHI: Though the Edappally Rail Overbridge has put an end to the long waiting hours at the railway cross and has cut short a distance of around 3 km, the bus fares still remain the same.Arun, a daily commuter, says that though the ROB has helped save the time taken to travel, the ticket charges are still the same. “The bus charges, if reduced, however small the amount may be, will make a huge difference in the budget of a layman travelling daily to the city”, he said.Paravoor Municipal former chairman N A Anthony said the authorities should look into the matter as hundreds of buses ply on the route everyday. “The ticket charges can be reduced only if the state government ask us to do so and it is not a quick process,” said Joint RTO Abdul Shukkur Koodakkal.
