314 junior engineers to monitor drinking water

BHUBANESWAR: The State Government has decided to appoint 314 junior engineers under the Rural Development Department, one each in 314 blocks of the State, to monitor the provision of drinking water.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal of the Department in this regard on Tuesday. The junior engineers will be responsible for providing piped drinking water in rural areas and maintenance and repair of tube-wells. The Chief Minister has directed the Department to start the recruitment process immediately.
