For easy exchange of knowledge and cultural ideas, four schools in the city have come together to form the Inter Student Council League Charter. The four founding members are Indus International School Bangalore, Inventure Academy, Mallya Aditi International School and Vidya Niketan School.“This is an initiative where students will learn and gain knowledge from each other. The student council will help foster relationships and help in improving managements,” said Omkar Joshi, Vice Principal, Indus International School Bangalore. The main aim of the charter is ‘to improve inter-school relations, create new student-led initiatives across Bangalore and host events collectively in the coming years.’ Joshi further said that this is a charter that has been done by students, and is for students. “There will be committees that will consist of the headboy and headgirl of the school,” he said. On February 14, student council representatives had met to discuss how they could collaborate in the field of sports, literary events, tournaments, community outreach programmes and more. In this discussion Inventure Academy brought up the idea of a league in which member schools could come together and aim towards improving inter-school relations. “Today, many schools are working towards building inter-school relations. Together we created this charter which will help all our councils to be united,” said Kush Mehta, the headboy of Indus International School. Kush further said, “This league has already been ratified by the respective heads of schools and council members. The next step is to get the charter that governs this league, signed, so that it forms a formal foundation that will enable us to organise specific events and finally to achieve our goals.” “Currently the main focus of the student league is community outreach and environmental betterment,” said Bhargava, the school captain of Inventure Academy.Joshi said membership is open to other schools. They have to follow a certain procedure to become a member of this league. The charter will be officially launched on June 13 at the Indus International School Bangalore premises. The structure of the league will comprise different committees.
