MYSORE: Union Minister for Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily, in a vituperative attack on the state government, said that its administration has gone to the dogs owing to poor implementation of developmental works. He said here on Saturday that allegations such as the Centre meting out step-motherly treatment to the BJP-led state government are baseless. “This government has raised debt levels to the maximum, at Rs 1 lakh crore. It is unable to utilise Central grants, including those under the Sarva Shiksha Abiyan. Over Rs 3,900 crore allotted under the National Rural Health Mission since 2005-06 have largely remained unspent,” he alleged. He also castigated the government for its allegations that it was stalling coal supply to the state. “When I was the chief minister, I was able to provide 24-hour power supply as I focused on it at all times,” he claimed. On the BJP attacking Governor H R Bhardwaj for rejecting Justice Bannurmath for the post of Lokayukta chief, Moily said: “Let the government recommend an unquestionable person first, if the Governor still does not agree to it, they can then question him.”
