Admissions to Plus 3 colleges begin

BHUBANESWAR: Admission into Plus Three colleges has kickstarted with the Higher Education Department sending intimation letters to the applicants on Wednesday for the first selection list.
As many as 48,019 intimation letters were sent. The first selection admission which started on Wednesday will continue till July 1. This year, at least 74,968 applications were submitted for 57,312 seats in 162 degree colleges which include 43 government and 119 aided colleges. The second selection list will be published on July 6. In 201011 when eadmission was introduced for degree level, at least 53 degree colleges admitted 22,430 students. The numbers have jumped to 162 colleges this year. There are still 500 colleges outside the admission system.
