SAMBALPUR: Even as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik adopted a wait and watch approach towards LK Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra against corruption, the latter did not rule out alliance with the BJD in the next general elections. “It is a speculative question,’’ said Advani while addressing mediapersons here on Monday morning. Before proceeding to Cuttack, the veteran BJP leader said they had an alliance with the BJD in the past and it was the BJD who parted ways. To questions on the Supreme Court strictures on corruption in MGNREGS in Orissa, the High Court cancelling mining in Niyamgiri and Khandadhar and Lokpal indicting the State Government in the land acquisition by Vedanta University in Puri, Advani ducked the questions by maintaining that the State leadership would answer them. Advani went on to say that the State BJP had been doing its job and did not spare the State Government on the issue of corruption.Former State BJP president Suresh Pujari said the issue before the nation is corruption and it has to be addressed through deeds, not through work. Under such circumstances the fight against corruption is not directed against the UPA Government at the centre alone but also against the State Government, said Pujari. Former Karnataka chief minister YS Yeddyurappa had quit and Naveen should follow suit, Pujari added.
