On September 5, the save EFLU co-ordination committee demanded a reply for the continued delay in the appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor from the MHRD. Concerning this issue, even though honourable MP Karunakaran (Kerala) and honorable MP Basudev Acharya (West Bengal) raised questions on the situation in EFLU, Hyderabad yesterday in the parliament, the concerned minister Kapil Sibal failed to answer. Instead Kapil Sibal sent a fax to the registrar of the university seeking an explanation for the continued agitations on the campus, especially on September 5. The general secretary of EFLUTA, Negi addressing the students as well as the media said, “When the previous VC, Prof Abhay Mourya left the university, according to the EFLU act 2006 made in the parliament the pro-VC was supposed to take charge of the university. But the ministry, violating the parliament act appointed Prof.Miyan as the in-charge VC who holds a VC position to MANUU, another central university.” He further added, “The co-ordination committee will approach the high court of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday in case if the ministry does not reply positively’.
