PERAMBALUR: Workers belonging to the VCK allegedly ransacked the houses of more than 25 AIADMK members, including the party candidate at Thirumanthurai, on Thursday, in retaliation to the damage to their leader Thol Thirumavalan’s car here on October 19.On Wednesday, during Phase II of the local body polling, the VCK chief visited the polling station at Thirumanthurai panchayat, where his relative Ilayaraja was one of the contestants.The VCK leader was reportedly verbally abused by AIADMK candidate Selvamani and his relatives and Thirumavalavan’s car was slightly damaged. Police registered a case against AIADMK cadre, including the candidate Selvamani. In retaliation to the alleged attack, Ilayaraja, along with his associates Saravanan Chellamuthu, Arumugam and Jayaraman allegedly ransacked more than 25 houses of AIADMK partymen, including Selvamani, Kolanji, Annadurai, Chellakumar, Kumar, Pandian and Selvamani. They also damaged the household articles and vehicles and fled. On information, DSP Rupesh Kumar Meena visited the spot and conducted inquiries.
