CHENNAI: Global Art India successfully organised its fifth national competition ‘Kolor Champ 2011’ here on Saturday. Around 900 children in the age group of five to 15 years from across the country participated in the event. The theme for the competition was ‘I Love My City’. The theme provided the children with an opportunity to come up with interesting features and aspects of the city that they live in. They were also asked to come up with various innovative ideas about how they wished to improve their respective cities.The visuals created, communicated an idea of how the next generation wanted their cities to be.The guests, Ajeeth Prasath Jain — Sr. Principal, Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram School said, “CCE is for students as education should be activity-based and not only a test of their memory power. SIP Programmes are a wonderful activity for children and should be part of CCE.” Kalaimamani SVe Shekar — actor, director and politician said, “As a person who has been in theatre, films and television since 1974, I thank SIP Academy for coming up with such an initiative and enabling children to be creative at a young age.”
