TIRUCHY: Another case of land grabbing against former minister K N Nehru, his brother K N Ramajeyam, Deputy Mayor M Anbalagam and others was registered here on Monday and five persons were arrested in this connection.Police said, P Karunanidhi (53) of Erode filed a complaint stating that 9.33 acres of land in Kottapattu was documented in his name in 1992 and later he partitioned it in three equal share and handed over two pieces to his brothers-in-laws — Nagaraj and Kamaraj — and had planned to sell his part in 2007. However, Nagaraj and Kamaraj allegedly threatened Karunanidhi stating that the duo were looking after the land for over 15 years and hence the piece of land belonged to them.Nagaraj and Kamaraj had also, disclosed Karunanidhi, that they had come to an oral agreement with ex-minister K N Nehru and his brother K N Ramajeyam and threatened him that no one could do anything against them.In Februray 2008, when Karunanidhi was measuring the land, a gang, led by Deputy Mayor M Anbalagan, Kottapattu Sanmugam, Kottapattu Sedhu and Kamaraj, followed by Nehru and Ramajeyam in another car, came and demanded that the land be handed over to them.When Karunanidhi refused, Ramajeyam physically assaulted him. Subsequently, they forced him into a car and took him to Nehru’s office on in Thillai Nagar.“Later, they got my signature by force as though I had offered the land to my sisters and thus the 9.33 acre was transferred to Ramajeyam through his by-name Lawrence Morais. The case was in progress at KK Nagar police station,” he said Based on a complaint, a case was registered against 10 persons, including Nehru, Ramajeyam, Anbalagan and others. On Monday, Kottapattu Shanmugam (53), Kottapattu Sedhu (56), Kamaraj (60), Madhankumar (37), and Karthi (30) were arrested.
