New Delhi: We have seen reports speculating the launch of Apple iPad mini on October 23, but now new reports have emerged which claim that the company also plans to launch the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display at its event, which is expected to be held on October 23. According to a report from 9to5mac.com, "Alongside the smaller iPad, Apple will debut a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, according to a consistently reliable source at a high-profile US retailer."
This new 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina Display is rumoured to pick up the thinner and lighter enclosure of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display that the company released in June. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is rumoured to be sold in two configurations, with differing processors and storage.
The report further said, the current 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is codenamed D2, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display has beeb dubbed D1, internally.
"Aside from the display upgrade, we can also expect the addition of Intel’s third-generation Ivy Bridge processors and USB 3.0, which is native to the new chipset," said The Verge.
Besides, the company is expected to unveil a smaller iPad on the same day that will take on the less expensive devices offered by Amazon.com Inc and Google Inc, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.
Wall Street analysts have predicted for months that Apple was planning a smaller, less costly version of its popular iPad to take on cheaper competing devices, a move that analysts say might hurt its margins, but prevent its rivals from dominating an increasingly important computing segment.
The source did not specify what the product would be and an Apple spokesman declined to comment, but tech blog AllThingsD reported earlier on Friday that Apple would launch the mini iPad at the event. The device is expected by many experts to have a screen between 7 and 8 inches.
