KOCHI: The installation of Mar George Alencherry, the newly elected head of the Syro-Malabar Church will be held at Ernakulam St Mary’s Basilica on Sunday. Syro-Malabar Church Curia Bishop Bosco Puthur will preside over the installation ceremony.Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, the Apostolic Nuncio to India, Major Archbishop Baselios Cleemis of Malankara Church, Cardinal Telesphore Toppo, president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) and the 44 bishops of the Syro-Malabar Church will be present at the ceremony. The representatives of priests and laity of Syro-Malabar dioceses and those of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly will participate in the ceremony. After the installation, the new Major Archbishop will preside over the rest of the Holy Mass.
